March is the third month of the year according to British calendar and 31 no of days. In India the summer season begins from this month. The name of March is dedicated to Roman lord of war “Mars”. In old Roman calendar it was the first month of the year.

Some Important Days with their cause:

1st March: Zero Discrimination Day, World Civil Defence day

This day is celebrated globally every year so that everyone can live without the fear of discrimination like skin colour, height, weight, gender, cast, etc. on 1 march 2014 UN declared to celebrate Zero Discrimination Day. A butterfly is the symbol of Zero Discrimination Day.
 
World Civil Defence Day was firstly organized by the International Civil Defence Organisation in 1990. This day is celebrated to bring the attention of the world to understand the importance of civil protection and respect the peoples who are giving services to make better civil comfortability.
 

3rd March: World Wildlife Day, World Hearing Day

This day is celebrated globally to make people aware of the earth’s wildlife which is also necessary for human life survival. The main motive of this day is to protect wildlife and save them from vanishing.
 
World hearing day is celebrated to aware of the people from deafness causes and promote the technology and prevention taken under these diseases.
 

4th March: National Safety Day

This day is celebrated by the National Safety Council on 4th March every year. The motive of this day is related to make people aware and help them in problems which they are facing like financial, health, social, etc.
 

8th March: International Women’s Day

This day is celebrated worldwide to appreciate the effort and the contribution of the women in the world economy and development. This day is also celebrated to aware of the people towards women’s rights in society and give them full freedom.
 

10th March: CISF Raising Day

The Central Industrial Security Force was set up in 1969 and it works under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs whose headquarter is in New Delhi. It is made to work with the States to make good communication between states and centers. It one of the main wings of Indian Defence.
 

11th March: No Smoking Day

No Smoking Day is celebrated on the second Wednesday of March every year. The motivation behind to celebrate this day is to aware of the people from the side effects of smoking and save the people harmful diseases like mount cancer, throat cancer, etc.
 

12th March: Mauritius Day, World Kidney Day

This day is celebrated to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters for the independence of India.
 
World Kidney Day is observed on 12  March every year to aware of the people regarding the increasing cases of kidney diseases across the world. On this day the precautions are shared with the people to avoid kidney diseases. The increasing rate of kidney disease cases is very fast and it occurs mostly by unhealthy food.
 

13th March: World Sleep Day

Sleep is one of the important factors of a healthy and happy life which is often forgotten by the people. It is necessary to take 8 hours of sleep in a day. So to aware of the people from sleep diseases like tension, stress, sleep, and headache.
 

14th March: Pi Day, International Day of Action for Rivers

Pi is a mathematical symbol that represents a constant i.e. the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (3.14 or 22/7). It one of the historical calculation inventions which make the circulation calculation very easy.
 
This day is celebrated to raise the voice to increase water pollution which harms water biodiversity and also harmful to human life. If the people do not pay attention to this the usable water is going to vanish very quickly.
 

15th March: World Consumer Rights Day

This day is started by John F Kennedy on 15 march 1962 to spread awareness all over the world regarding the rights of the consumer and protect them from harassment.
 

16th March: National Vaccination Day

This day is also known as National Immunization Day and started on 16 March 1995. It is celebrated to increase awareness of diseases regarding the Polio throughout the nation. It is a common disease in children whose parents are not aware of the Polio Vaccines. Every child must take Polio Vaccine up to 5 years.
 

18th March: Ordnance Factories Day

On this day, the Ordnance Factory, Field Gun Factory, Small Arms Factory, Ordnance Parachute Factory, and Ordnance Equipment Factory recognize the day.
 

20th March: World Happiness Day, World Sparrow Day, World Oral Health Day

From 2013, the UN starts to celebrate this day to raise awareness among the people regarding happiness in life. They took many steps to reduce the problems and raise help to them.
 
Many species birds and sparrows have vanished and many are on the endangered line due to human cause. So to protect and preserve them this day is celebrated worldwide and spread the awareness all around.
 
World Oral Health Day is celebrated to raise awareness around the works regarding oral disease. Mouth diseases increase day by day so it is necessary to aware of the people about it.
 

21st March: World Forestry Day, World Poetry Day, World Down Syndrome Day

World Forestry Day is celebrated to bring the focus of people toward the importance and need of forests which are decreasing drastically and play the main role in global warming.

22nd March: World Water Day

It is firstly celebrated in 1993 and was recommended by the United Nations conference in 1992. It is celebrated to encourage the people to save or preserve the freshwater and procure the water from wastage.
 

23rd March: World Meteorological Day

This day denotes the foundation of the world meteorological association in 1950. It keeps us updated about the everyday climate and natural disasters.
 

24th March: World Tuberculosis Day (TB)

This day is celebrated in the memory of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, the bacillus that causes TB by Dr. Robert Koch in 1882. This day is celebrated to aware the people about TB around the world.
 

27th March: World Theater Day

It is celebrated since 1962 across the world to appreciate the art of theater and aware of the people regarding its importance and its potential which is often underestimated.
